Do you know how long a generation is?

It’s the age difference between a group of parents and their children, so it’s usually 20-30 years. Did you know that there have been around 140 generations from Adam and Eve to you? That’s a long time!

God had been faithful to his people all that time and in every single one of those generations.

This week’s verse comes from a psalm (pronounced with a silent “p” like in “pteradactyl”), which is a song or poem used by God’s people in worship for centuries . The Book of Psalms in the Bible is a collection of these songs. They don’t always rhyme, but they often use beautiful pictures to get their point across. There are different types of psalms, including psalms of thanksgiving like Psalm 100.

It’s wonderful that God gives us psalms like this, to remind us that we can always give thanks to him. Even when life isn’t going the way we think it should, we still have so much to be thankful for. And the most important thing we can be thankful for is Jesus. If we didn’t have Jesus as our Savior, nothing else in life would truly matter, even the good things. But we do have Jesus. So no matter how good or bad your day is going, give thanks to God for his goodness, love, and faithfulness!

“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” – Psalm 100:5
