Have you ever tried walking in a straight line while looking all around you?
It’s almost impossible! If you don’t have your eyes fixed on something ahead, you’ll drift to the side, stumble, or even fall. The same thing can happen in life.
There are lots of things that can make us start to drift – tests at school, new friends, moving to a new place, or even just hearing troubling news on TV or online. We don’t always know what’s going to happen next. But we do know who Jesus is. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever.
That’s why the book of Hebrews in the Bible says, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.”
When Jesus lived on earth, he faced suffering and even the cross. But he kept his eyes on the joy ahead: saving us and being with us His Father in heaven. Because he stayed focused on his mission, we now have hope no matter what happens.
So when life feels shaky, when you’re scared, or when plans change, remember this: Jesus already knows your future. He’s holding it in his hands. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to keep your eyes on him.
As a family, talk about ways you can keep your focus on Jesus. It’s as simple as praying together, reading the Bible before bed, or singing worship songs. These are small but powerful ways to remind your hearts where your hope really is.

Family Prayer
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for being our steady hope when life feels uncertain. When we get distracted or afraid, help us to fix our eyes on you. Remind us that you already know our future and that your love will never fail us. Help our family trust you more each day and follow where you lead with faith and joy. In your name we pray, Amen.
